A Westpac eStatement is the PDF twin of the paper statement, so it inherits the paper conventions rather than the app's. Transactions sit under a narrative-style description column with separate debit and credit amounts and a running balance on the right, and the period is bracketed by an opening balance at the top and a closing balance with total credits and total debits at the foot. That description text frequently wraps across two or three printed lines — merchant name, location, card reference. The account is identified by BSB and account number in the header block, and eStatements are issued per statement period rather than per arbitrary date range.
- Split debit and credit columns map straight onto the Debit and Credit output columns, so no amount changes sign on the way through.
- Wrapped narrative lines are rejoined into the transaction they belong to instead of becoming extra empty rows.
- The opening and closing balances printed on the statement are used to check the conversion, not just the row count.
- Statement-period PDFs convert the same way whether they came from Online Banking, the app, or a closed-account statement request.
