Bank Statement Kit ("we", "us") converts bank statement PDFs into structured CSV files. This policy explains what we do with your files and personal data. We collect as little as possible.

Your uploaded files

Bank statement PDFs you upload are processed in memory only to extract transaction data. The original PDF is never written to disk and is discarded as soon as your conversion completes — we never store the PDF file itself. In some cases we retain a structured extract of the statement to improve our parser; see "Improving our parser" below.

Conversion history & retention

If you are signed in, the extracted transaction data (the converted CSV) is saved to your account's conversion history so you can re-download it. This data is automatically deleted 30 days after the conversion, and you can delete any conversion — or all of them — from your history at any time.

If you are not signed in (guest use), we do not save your converted data to any account history — it is returned to your browser. Separately, we may retain a structured extract of some statements to improve our parser, whether or not you are signed in; see "Improving our parser" below.

Improving our parser

To convert statements accurately — and to avoid sending every file to an AI model — we build a library of per-bank parsing rules. When we encounter a bank layout we have not fully learned yet, or when a conversion does not pass our automatic balance check, we retain a structured record of that statement: the position and text of the words on the page, together with the transaction rows we extracted. This lets us build and verify a parser for that bank's format, and it can happen whether or not you are signed in.

This data is used only to build and validate our parsing rules. It is never used to train AI models, and it is never sold or shared. We keep it only for as long as needed to maintain the relevant parser, and you can ask us to delete records relating to your statements at any time by emailing support@bankstatementkit.com.

Third-party processing

To extract data, the contents of your statement are sent to our model provider solely to perform the conversion. They are not used to train models and are not retained beyond the request. All data is encrypted in transit over TLS.

Information we collect

  • A device fingerprint and/or anonymous identifier used to count free conversions and prevent abuse.
  • If you subscribe, your email address and billing details, handled by our payment processor Dodo Payments, which acts as Merchant of Record for the transaction. We never see your full card number.
  • Basic, aggregated usage and error logs to keep the service running.

Cookies

We use a single authentication cookie to keep subscribers signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can delete individual conversions or your entire conversion history at any time from within the app. Stored conversion data is also automatically deleted after 30 days. Your original PDF is never stored. For any data we retain to improve our parser (see "Improving our parser"), you can request deletion by emailing us. You may also request access to or deletion of your account data by contacting us.
